Hello,

I'm trying to decide to get a Gigabyte GeForce GTX1060. But I dont know much about Gpu's.

here is the Card Im looking at getting: http://www.frys.com/product/8940873?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Okay so I am upgrading from a Nvidia GeForce GTX 460. It's about time for me to upgrade Im tired of playing games on low, and I would really like to play other games atleast on high.. My budget is $250. I found the 1060 listed above instock at a store near me, and a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB. What should I get? I want decent fps But I also don't want to upgrade a gpu for another 5 years atleast. If you have a 1060 let me know if you like it give me a Pros and cons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Specs:

oh wow, Didn't even see that card on their site. But unfortunately I cannot go over my budget :( I'm basically just trying to upgrade from my current card. Thanks for your reply.

is there any way you can save to get the 6 gig card?
the six gig cards even have more cores than the 3 gig cards.

If you have to go with Fry's, I'd be looking here http://www.frys.com/search?query_se...cat=-73022&from=0&to=99&nearbyStoreName=false

If you have to have a 1060, get a 6 GB here https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...NE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007709 601205646 600358543

480/580 cards (8 GB) here, too https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...d=1&N=100007709 601203793 601296377 600494828

With a $250 budget you're looking at some nice options all the way around. Hardest part is picking the prettiest one for your rig. LOL

after 2 dud gigabyte crds well 3 actually rma card was dud as well 2 were the gtx1080 waterforce wb editions they had issues with waterblocks having spider cracks in them, the other was the gigabyte gaming oc gtx1080ti was super loud and a heater to boot I could feel the heat coming off it holding my hand 12 inches away from it. I'd steer clear of gigabyte gpus atm seems they having alot of issues. And rma turn around time has greatly increased I's still waiting for my refund which I was told 7-10 day after they received the card which was 4/18 They said check was going to be mailed last friday 5/12 but I was lied to again and was told it went out monday because they forgot to mail it friday lol it aint like I havent been on the phone with them alot hell they know me by first name now and I no longer have to give my rma number anywho sorry went astray and off topic just be warned about gigabyte cards atm.

Ehh, Im not to worried about the prettiest Card.. Well I take that back I do want a nice looking card for my setup. I would rather have a Nividia GTX 1060.. But those are much more out of my price range. Either way I dont play any hardcore games.. Just needing something thats Faster than my Gtx 460.

It will it will go insane on that and these builds, and you got even better mobo RIII over the II here still going strong.

The EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING 6GB is a good card to get, they also have good support for the 3 year warranty.
