I have an AMD Athlon T-Bird 850 and a
Abit-KT7 mother Board. I would really like to overclock but unfortunatly I have never done it before.
I know where to go in Bios but I have heard I need to
"unlock" something. If so WHAT!? please help me. And responses would be greatly appreciated.
What is the highest I should be able to get my T-Bird 850 up to?

Oh yea it is a Socket A.

You need to unlock the L1 bridges with a pencil or conductive ink pen. Look at your CPU and find this:

L1.::::

connect the bridges like this:

L1.llll

As far as speed, it depends on the processor, what HSF you have and what kind of case cooling you have. 1Gig should be easy tho.

Good Luck!
