I need a new case and psu for this new rig, preferably mid atx with good cooling and able to fit a thermaltake ultra 120. dont want a huge beast, last time i ended up getting a case bigger than my fridge and needed a crane to take it anywhere.

Rig thus far:

Q6600 looking to get about 3.0-3.2ghz
8800gt aiming for 1750 shader potentially another one SLI in the near future
G.skill 2x2ghz ddr2 1000
Asus p5k deluxe

so a case thats easy to put together, good cooling, light not to big, and reasonable priced? - if theres none that will fit the ultra 120, whats a decent smaller cooler?

and a psu to power the above not too high priced, thinking ocz powerstream 520? or could this be a little underpowered for future SLI?

Yeah the 520 is a little low on the watts for SLi no SLI on the P5K anyway..

Get a HX520.(crosair)

Hazzy,

If you are going to go SLI at any time with those cards, you better get the power supply to handle it now.

or the PC Power and Cooling 750 Silencer.

That OCZ may be ok for a single 8800 but not two of them. There are better choices. If you want quality SLI capability for 8800s, it's going to cost.

If you are going to run a single 8800, then the Corsair HX 520 is top notch. If you don't like modular, then the Corsair 550 VX is a better choice.

buy the biggest you can afford!

But be sure its a good name, such as PCP&C 750 quad. I own it, and love it.

This will be with me until they change the spec.

The case should be the biggest you can fit / afford. The bigger the better cooling it will have.. Such as the Armor series cases.

I'd say the lian li blows it out of the water, better build quality by far no crappy plastic panels.

As James XP mentioned there is no comparison to Lian Li. They are simply the best built case on the market today. Search these forums for testimonies.

Here are a couple of images of the Lian-Li PC-7B Plus II with a Scythe Ninja installed to give you an idea of the amount of room available for your HSF:

Performance PCs will sell you a windowed version for $105, but Newegg has a windowed PC-60B Plus II on sale for $129 so for the extra $24 you'll get a removable motherboard tray and a better drive cage (5 drives as opposed to 3). You will loose the 120mm fan in the rear (with the removable motherboard tray they can only fit an 80mm fan). Personally, I think having the removable motherboard tray is worth over $24, but if you're really on a budget the 7B is a good case.
