Overclocking is not very hard, except I had the same problem as you.
Nobody seems to like to explain it, like it is some sort of secret. It really pissed me off. Three other websites I asked the exact same question on (How does one overclock, with a step by step guide) and nobody answered. Yes I realize different parts overclock differently, but there is a tried and true method for most.
You raise the multipler in the BIOS from default, up. In small to medium increments.
Then you stress test your system with LinX, Prime 95, Intel Burn Test or other stress tester.
If it passes a reasonable amount of time (perhaps 4-10 hours) then you're stable and you can leave it on that overclock forever. If it isn't stable, you go and raise voltages (power supplied to the processor) and test again. If it now passes the test, then you're good. Rinse and repeat.
Also, I tend to reccomend GTX 670s, perhaps in your budget a 660ti is best since you need PsyX.
