Quiet HDD ?

My hard drive on the PC dosenr make any noise atall... why is that ? its a 9gb maxtor from a DLL Dimension L600cx

no its not dead im on it right now its just really quiet... ive got a WD in my other PC and i hear it working all the time

Was it always like that or did it used to make noise? If it's always been like that then don't worry about it, some hard drives are designed to be completely silent. I have one and when I first got it I was surprised too. Personally I don't like it, I like being able to hear my computer.
