Just lick it off, you get really dizzy for a few seconds but it goes away.... I think

I also suggest brake cleaner, stuff destroys anything in its way.

some as3 lol and he was gonna too :D

I use isopropyl alcohol from chemist for cleaning cpu and heatsink
i've not had any problems as yet cleaning anything with that stuff ... :D

I forgot to add that Walgreen's usually carries 99%. Not that it matters much, but if you are one of those people that are fixated with things like that or just have a Walgreen's close, give them a try.

All depends on quite how serious you are about removing residues.
If you REALLY don't want to fanny about - just use some Cellulose Thinners.
They will move Heaven AND Earth - nothing dares stand in its way.

Where might the common man get that Mr. aureus?

I rebuilt a computer for a friend....crappy local shop build. It had remnants of a thermal pad on the cpu, along with some silicon crap and some arctic silver. I soaked it in warm water and dish soap for about 30 minutes, then scrubbed it gently with a toothbrush. I then cleaned it all off with denatured alcohol and set it under a 60w light bulb for a speed-dry.
Worked like a charm afterwards :)
