We are installing a camera system that has the ability to be viewed over the network. It says I need a static ip? How would I set this up?

Thanks

go to

control panel

network connections

right click and hit properties on your NIC

go to TCP/IP and hit properties

set to "use the following ip address"

and you're good to go

I need to set it so my server gives out the static IP..the box for the camera system needs a static IP

lol but thanks tho, cause I was wondering how I can force a computer to us an IP, so that helps me out on something else!

Servers don't assign 'give out' static addresses, they give out dhcp addresses based on dhcp clients requesting an address. Static addresses are assigned/configured on the network node. I would say that the manual for your 'camera' would explain how to configure the device for an address.
