Need some help figuring out what gaming monitor to get either the 27" 1080p 4ms curved acer predator z271 or the 24" 1440p 1ms acer predator xb241yu. They are only a 30 dollars price difference. I play a lot of fps and rpg's. looking for a monitor in the 5-600 dollar range My current build is i5 4690k gtx 980ti 16 gigs of ram is the core of my build.

The 980ti will play 1440p pretty well; here is a benchmark showing it getting 70+ fps on BF1 on ultra at 1440p. It performs about on par with the 1070, getting edged out ever so slightly. Personally at 27 inches I would opt for 1440p. 24 could go 1080 or 1440--not sure how much better 1440p would look at that size but maybe someone else who has experience could comment.

So a 27" 1080p monitor is a no go IMO, and your GPU can handle a 1440p monitor--I'd take the xb241yu. Not that the 4ms vs 1ms response time will be noticeable but the 24 inch one is theoretically faster for your FPS needs.

Yeah I see your point on the 24" guess I see the 27" curved and my mouth watered a little bit lol. But I think I'll go with the 24" thank you.

I wish I had thever money for something like that but right now my budget it about 600 but I was looking and found a Dell 27" 144hz g sync and 1ms for less then 500. Can't beat that.
