Here is the current System:
AMD XP 2100+ B
Asus A7N8X DELUXE bios 1002a
512mb Excelerate PC2100 DDR 266
2-128mb pc2100 ddr 266
Visiontek NVidia Geforce 3 ti500 64mb DDR
SEAGATE BARRACUDA 40GB HD 7200rpm
Pioneer 16X dvd player
Plextor 16x cdrw
Thermaltake Silent PurePower, 420W ATX
Current settings:
14*145=2030mhz
volt=stock(1.6)
Under load: MB = 27C, CPU=35C

I have been able to get my FSB up to 147 with stability but I backed off by 2 and uped the Multiplier. I can probably go to 15 on the multiplier but have not tried yet.
I'm trying to be a little performance/price on this. What memory would you suggest? I need 1gig.

You could probably even go for 3500 if you could afford it.

Ok, I looked up the OCZ memory. I have a couple choices here:

OCZ Dual Channel Optimized DDR PC-3200 High Performance. The Ultimate High End Memory 512MBX2 Model# OCZ4001024ELDC
Specifications:
Type: DDR 184-pin DIMM
Size: 512MBX2
Speed: 400MHz, CL 2
Features: Copper heat spreader, 1T CMD rate Model#: OCZ4001024ELDC -OEM @ $300

or
2 - OCZ DDR PC-3200 Performance Series Memory 512MB Model# OCZ400512R2
Specifications:
Type: DDR 184-pin DIMM
Size: 512MB
Speed: 400MHz, CL 2
Features: Copper heat spreader, 1T CMD rate Model#: OCZ400512R2 2x122=$244

or
2 - OCZ DDR PC-3200 Performance Memory 512MB Model# OCZ400512EL
Specifications:
Type: DDR 184-pin DIMM
Size: 512MB
Speed: 400MHz, CL 2
Features: Copper heat spreader, 1T CMD rate Model#: OCZ400512EL -OEM 2x138= $276

Not really sure what the differences are here...

These are the popular ones in the forum, they should do fine (except if you care about the price)

1. Corsair 3200 LL 512 MB $160 (it did 196 MHz 6-2-2-2, a bad stick)
2. OCZ EL 3500 C2 512 MB $150 (it did 217 MHz 6-3-3-2)
3. TwinMOS/Windbond 3200 C2.5 512 MB $132
4. TwinMOS/TwinMOS 3200 C2.5 256 MBx2 $57x2 (it did 215 MHz 6-3-3-2)

I tried all of them. Currently, I use a

Noname (from hardcorecooling) 3500 C2 512 MB $100 (it did 220 6-3-3-2)

It does memtest 220 MHz 6-3-3-2, and it runs 211 MHz 5-3-2-2 @ 2.6 V on a A7N8X-dlx stable 24/7 (prime95 + 3D Mark + Window Movie Maker together).

I would buy

2 x 256MB OCZ pc-3500 el(enhanced latency) modules if you can afford it.
They are rated at 434Mhz 2,3,3,7 and will go higher with the correct voltage...

Otherwise get there smaller el pc-3200 brothers...;)

Oh and before i forget.

The dual ddr kits are just marketing hype. Pick 2 of the same modules and you are getting the exact same modules. Just a chance for any of the memory suppliers to pitch sales a bit more and make more money...
