Which one? Volcano 7+(plus) or Volcano 9???

If you remove the aluminum thermaltake faceplate it will reduce some of that whining from the fan. I did this with mine for the same reason.

Tried this and it did result in a small decrease in noise (5-10% noticable difference), however the whine sound is still there. It seems to be coming from the actual fan bearings so not much that I can do about that except try to change the RPM's.

How do you guys get that low temps with volcano 9? Mine are 49@ idle and ~60@ full load...
