I now have 512 megs of ram. Not because I totally need it but micron 7ns mem was 35 bucks for 256 megs. I had to buy it 'cuz it was so cheap.

Any way, I only needed 256meg. Is there a way to have w2k use the extra mem for disk caching or some other use?

watching task manager my peak use ever has been 300 meg and that was transient.

PS anyone with w2k and WPcredit?
I have a crappy P3V4X and when I set the memory timmings in the bios my board defaults to 2 way interleave. I try wpcredit to fix this but my machine give me the finger and I have to give it the reset button 90% of the time. I don't know why sometimes this works. I used by SPD for mem timmings to get 4X interleave and it works fine but I get 8ns timming. If I manually set 8ns timmig and then try wpcredit to get 4X it still locks.

is there a secret I don't know about?

Humm....Im running pretty much the same setup. With 512mb of ram too, but I hardly have anymore lockups, perhaps use the memory enabler from via's weebsite and see what happens. All I know for sure is that this mobo likes quick ram, i got 6ns kingmax tbgga ram, and prior to that i had generic pc100 ram that was the root of all my past lockups.
