The Inquirer reports that AMD will cut prices on its single-core A64s dramatically, by a third or more for the mid-scale models. This also include AM2 chips.
This isn’t just a rumor, some of these dramatically dropped prices have already kicked in a few places in at least the US.
What has not changed so far is pricing on AMD dual-cores. Yet. I think it’s pretty safe to say, though, that they’ll get slashed when (or prior to) the introduction of Conroe.
If you’re looking for a bargain, I suggest you sit on your wallet, have yourself a few cold (or hot if you’re south hemispheric) ones, take a look at the prices once in a while, and smile a lot.
