Like a 1 minute clip off dvd to avi?

Ok. i got this dvd on a dvd and its in my dvd tray right now. theres just a small like 1 minute clip that I want to cut out of it and make it an avi or mpg. what program can i do that in and how?

note: the dvd is not an avi file..i hope i dont have to make it one yet.

The trial version of this allows about 4 min of dvd ripping:

http://www.pqdvd.com/dvd-to-ipod-video-converter.html

That should give you a quicktime(mov. file)

Then if you can not use that. Here is a trial version to convert mov. files to mpg or avi.

These are just the ones I know and have tried. Do a google for dvd to mpg ripping and you might find something better

I don't know much about it, but I think Gordian Knot can help you doing what you want.

dvd shrink will also let you rip certain parts of a movie
