Hi Johan, yes it seems that I've topped out with this one. Not a problem I got my new case, motherboard & power supply yesterday & I'm starting my new build.I hate to say it but that's more than likely the case. 4.64 was the top for me on my M5A pro R2. You've done quite well Dan
Yes it's been fun & I've learned a lot from you guys. I'm going to put the 4170 back in the EVO & keep the 8350 for the new build.Well at least it should be settled in your mind that adjustments will not fix your cpu speed. I was hoping against hope that something might give you just a little edge. I do remember the 9xx eVo and pRo board thing and 8 core processors and stability beyond a certain cpu speed. Case closed and thanks for giving it a go PPD. Now we know more of the rest of the story.
RGone...ster.

Hi, well I'm starting a new sys. I've been doing research for about a month on all parts of a custom water loop rig. I just got the first parts yesterday & today.New build???
Yes, yes we doOH!, do tell us more about this new build papadan. We really like new builds.
I was thinking of a way to cool my VRM and socket with a watercool setup, The best way I can figure out in my mind is to get a 120mm x 240mm piece of plexi. Cut it out using a 240mm rad template, then put a 90 degree bend in it screw one face to the exhaust fan and then screw another 120mm fan on that blows directly down onto the VRM's and socket.
Edit:
Or instead of re-inventing the wheel...
