My GA-965P-DQ6 has 2x PCI-X 16 ports I think (not sure).

Can I run an AGP card in PCI-X port? How about PCI cards (like my XFI)?

If I'm trying to do SLI, then will I have to get PCI-X 4x..because my 16x slot is used?

Ahh, okay. Can you run PCI-X 4x on PCI-X 16x or even PCI? I'm new to this PCI-X thing.

Your XFI will go into a regular PCI slot, which will be at the very bottom of all the slots. If you want to run SLI you will need either two 16x or two 8x slots. You cannot use the 4x or 1x slots for video cards.

If you only have one 16x or one 8x slot you are unable to use SLI.

OMGG!

PCIe PCIe PCIe

NOT PCI-X

PCI-X is a PCI slot for mainly server motherboards. with 33/66/133 speeds.

Could someone tell me if SLI is supported (or how many PCI-E 16x) slots GA-965P-DQ6?

Thanks!

go read gigabytes website on the board, it will tell you how many PCIe slots and how fast they are.

Ack! I can't believe I made that mistake! PCI-X is a 64-bit version of PCI that supports speeds up to 133MHz, correct. You don't see it much outside of servers.
