Hi tehre, does anyone know if this board supports PCI-EXPRESS 2.0? i cant seem to find it anywhere on the web :'(

Thanks

PCIe 1.1 compliant - it's in the motherboard manual.

But if you mean can you use a PCIe 2.0 card in it, yes you can and it will run at PCIe 1.1 specs. Instead of running 8GB/s for x16 like it would in a PCIe 2.0 slot your PCIe 2.0 card will run at 4GB/s for x16, about the same as a PCIe 2.0 x8 slot would run ...

thanks for that,im finding it so hard finding an am2+ pci-express 2.0 board  , do you know of any decent boards? im not planning on using sli

Decent OC'ers? Decent as in long-lasting? Decent in price? Not sure what you mean.

There are plenty of AM2/AM2+, AM2+/AM3, and AM2/AM2+/AM3 boards on Newegg with PCIe 2 x16 ...

None of which I'm suggesting in particular - I'm just listing them as I see them. I tend to prefer ASUS or Gigabyte, Biostar and MSI are OK, some people like ASRock ... it's up to you and what exactly you're looking for in a motherboard and what CPU you have. If you can give me a better idea of what you want I might be able to help but I'm shooting in the dark here ...

thanks for your help, ive got a phenom 8400 tripple coreee, and just something that delivers good performance and a decent overclocker, also pretty decent in price lol

How about an MSI? It's the only 790X on Newegg for AM2+. I have no specifics on this board, though, just going by the MSI 790FX, which was a good board, and the 790X chipset, which has done very well in the mid-range. If you can find one the Gigabyte 790X UD4's were very good boards but Newegg doesn't sell them anymore. There were several varieties of them and as long as "790X" and "UD4" is in the model number you'll be good.

After that take your pick of ATX boards (not mATX) with the 790GX or 785GX chipset. Biostar has several as does ASRock. It looks like ASUS and Gigabyte have moved away from the AM2+ boards. :( Avoid DFI, overall they've had a lot of problems. I don't particularly favor Jetway, either - not very good clockers. ECS is so-so for clocking, I'd trust a similarly priced Biostar more ...
