Crap crap. I had a DFI board that acted a complete fool when a particular DVDR was installed. Had to go thru 2 more before I got one that allowed booting all the time.
Got a bad Usb wifi adapter on one of my Intel rigs and takes 5 days to shutdown. THEN the wifi started giving symptoms. So in troubleshooting it I found that pulling that Usb device allowed shutdown in a heart beat. I guess in that case winders was having aproblem but the hardware was the true issue and had me chasing my tail around the computer. Strange odd shett and no sense in just saying it is X when crap it is Z.
Glad you found it man. That one was close to being hid for awhlle more.
