have 8 gigs, only 4 gigs usable?

edit: should be able to return the PSU as its hardware, not software.

Just installed new mobo. Same exact issue, only showing 4 gb usable.

both ram sticks run fine when inserted by themselves.

Got it working..this Mobo seems to be very strange.

my heatsink covers the ram slot 1, so I was using ram slots 2&4 (as we know, should pair up the colors).

Came up 8 gigs (4 usuable), even memtest was telling me 4 gigs. But both sticks worked by themselves in slot 2. Neither worked in slot 4, neither worked in slot 3. So i took heatsink off, put in slot 1, worked, put in slot 2, worked..both. Now have full 8 gigs usable using slot 1&2, and appears slots 3&4 "only" work when you are already using slots 1&2..

think ill go back to asus/asrock with my next setup..gigabyte..wtf..
