What's up guys!

I was wondering if there's someone here with a similar setup as mine that could share his clock settings as I haven't overclocked before.

Specifications:
Corsair (2x3) DDR3 [PC3-10700H] CMX6GX3M3A1333C9
EvGa GTX 680 2GB
Intel i7 930 @ 2,8 ghz(stock)
6GB Ram
Gigabyte x58a-ud3r motherboard

Thank's :D

What specifically don't you understand?

I don't understand which settings does matter when you overclock. I mean, if it's possible to adjust my system after another persons clock settings :D

Check the pictures I uploaded above,

thanks for the replys :)

The guide that mokrunka linked you to explains everything you need to know. And the two threads I linked you to have BIOS templates for 3.8GHz and above settings.

Oh I didn't see your guides! Thank's bud

Lol at the surprise smileys in rusty's post.

Anywho. Take your time when reading through the links we've posted. They are VERY well written and make perfect sense if you take the time to understand them. It should be very easy to hit 3.8GHz (probably even 4) with your chip.

I haven't played with that CPU in a while so I can't just throw random numbers out that will be your magic 4GHz formula.

The clock settings are not specific to a certain user, if that's what you're asking. You are adjusting the settings in the BIOS, before your operating system even boots. Once you change the settings to something that is works and is stable for you, they will stay that way until you change them or (sometimes) an error occurs due to the overclock and the system fails to boot. In that case, usually the BIOS will load the system defaults. Hope that helps.

Cheers bud, can I use these settings with my i7 930 or what's the difference? I already know my 930 is preclocked :)

Some good info in here.

When you get to OCing, there's little (if any) difference between the 920 and 930.

Or even the 960... the D0 bin from those chips are readily OCd.

I would advise against just taking someone's settings and plugging them into your BIOS. While small steps up/down from what worked before is perfectly OK, you don't want to go and make a huge voltage jump or something right off the bat--you'll never find a max OC that way.

I wish you luck with your overclock. I have(had) the same exact setup, and upgraded to a 980x. Neither chip was able to get over 4GHz stable on this board, even though both chips are capable of over 4GHz (the 980x was benched at over 5GHz). For some reason, my board just hates when the cpu is over 4GHz, regardless of any settings, even if on stock BClock and just simply using the 980x multi to get over 4GHz. Best I can go for is 3990. :(

I may try some of the settings in those other posts though, as I really want to finally get over 4GHz daily, not just for a couple of minutes before it blue screens (if I'm lucky to even go for a couple of minutes).
