Yes Thats what i have in my computer right now

Here's my 2 cents. If you plan on OC'ing and/or upgrading to BD or better yet PD later on avoid the M5A97 series. There are numerous posts on this forum and OCN where people are having issues OC'ing with that motherboard and BD.

Here's a combo to consider

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157280
$74.99 w/ free shipping

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147061
$39.99 if you use the promo code that their running currently & free shipping. I love the HAF series but at $40 the Ranger has very good reviews and that's an excellent buy.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103924
$119.99 w/ free shipping

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186038
$9.99 w/ free shipping. It's just as good if not better than AS5, it's not as thick so it spreads easier, doesn't require "curing" time like AS5 and is non conductive unlike AS5.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
$30.00 w/ $4.99 shipping

Total = $279.99

Edit - oops had a calc typo. If you're not going to overclock now you can hold off on the 212 and then you're looking at 244.99 with a better MB that gives you a good foundation to upgrade to PD later on.

The issue is trying to go above 4.2GHz and remain stable without having to drop the multi and do large bumps on the base clock. Even then the highest I've seen is 4.3ish to 4.4GHz. The consensus is that it's something Asus either did with the VRM's or the BIOS.

Edit - It could be they're doing something wrong, I don't know...hard to really say without one in front of me to play with. Just saying it might be better to go with another MB.

I prolly wont go no higher then 4.0 what do you achieve from overclock just better multitasking or if I overclock will it help in games also

Oh is that so why should I over clock anyway? Better multitasking/gaming performance

All depends on the processor. Intel vs AMD gaming performance is WAYYYY overblown. The GPU is far far more important. Basically any 4GHz quad core (which you should be able to do no problem with the 975 I listed) and your GPU will be far more the bottleneck in gaming performance than the CPU. Even the SB i3's with only 2 cores and 4 threads do fine in most games even though it can't be overclocked more than 100MHz or 2. Going from what you have now to a good quad at 4GHz you'll see a difference in multi-tasking and a bump in gaming. Whether or not you get the M5A97 or another I would highly recommend taking a look at the rosewill case and the 975 that I posted (it's the same price as the 965). The rosewill case is very similar in design to the 912 and it shaves $20 off of your total.

I am in india n giong to buy FX8120 with Asus M5A97-Pro.I have already owned Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cooler..
If AMD FX 8120 is comfortable for all type of gaming and works..And if it can be overclocked to 4ghz with cooler master hyper 212evo..??If it cant then how much it can be overclocked with cm hyper 212 evo to run it at high loads??

Yeah, it'll do 4ghz no worries with a hyper 212. Frankly you can set the board to automatically overclock and it'll hit 4ghz no worries

Ok mjw21a.And how i can set the board Asus M5A97-Pro to automatically overclock 8120 to hit 4ghz wid no worries??
And If AMD FX 8120 is comfortable for all type of heavy gaming and multitasking works??as i dnt have budget to buy intel 2500K,so going for FX8120..

Yeah, check out my email sig. I'm running the slightly updated EVO version of that board, does 4GHz no worries. Just make sure that the RAM you select is up to the task.... Mines running DDR2000 speeds. Below what its rated for basically. There's a setting in the UEFI BIOS for overclocking where you literally select it, it reboots and sets your system to a higher clock speed, easy as.
