Molnir, pc gear looks like a good place to start a new build!!! I may just use them, thanks for the tip, good night all, will post tomorrow when I've finally decided.

I can't bring myself to go any lower on that config. Not without compromising a few of my beliefs in regards to quality, upgradeabillity, cooling etc.

Anyways, I'm going to call a cab. Off for a night of karaoke at the pub. I'll check this thread again tomorrow if I'm not too hung over

Just tried pc gear to do the same build!!!!

Came to $868 including postage....... DOH!!

$6 more than my current build, just can't win.

Ha. Where are you located in Aus? Postage for that build costs me 50.

Here is an alteration. Change the i3 2120 to a i3 2100. And changed the RAM. (honestly; heat spreaders are for show.. :p). 800 flat.

Is a PSU as an alternative if you can't wait for the Neo Eco. Still decent. =) (And saves 4 bucks hahaha)

Totally agree. I've even had unstable overclocks until I removed the heatspreaders before. Heated air tends to get trapped in the space between ram chips under the heatspreader. They're completely pointless

Check this out

Now if I get a A8 3870k and clock it I can buy a graphics card (6770) next month and add the extras in now. To be honest it doesn't matter if I cant upgrade, I'll just buy new next year and give this build to my kids.

Finally Decided to go for this build, I'll use the extra cash to upgrade my home computer. :)

Any concerns???

The case and psu are my concerns. Mostly the psu. It's not something you usually want to skimp out on. And frankly if you don't care about upgrades you could drop the mobo in my build down to a cheaper board and sit closer to your current price and have a faster system overall. But up to you :). It's a solid build, but I don't like that power supply. Is rather go for a cooler master with psu over aywun. And I don't like low end cm psus. Lol.

Any Questions?????
:argue:

Le Sigh. My build below is the cheapest I can go. For alterations of mine anyway. But if you're happy with yours.. Then go for it. (However, Without knowing specs on that thermal take it could be just as bad.. Thermaltake are half/half. Some of their PSU's are great; others not. But it'd definitely be better than an Aywun for sure..)

But your build is solid. Will run whatever you need it to. Though don't expect a huge OC out of that cooler lol. :p. But it'll still definitely be better than stock ^^.

Just remember it's your money. I'm only trying to guide you. So if you're happy with your build, go for it. (just avoid no-name brands like Aywun is all I ask. A solid PSU will last you through several budget builds if required. A crappy one will not.)

I've had a 650w thermaltake PSU for 5 years now and it's still not missed a beat.

I wouldnt go with the ECS board if you want to overclock. They used to make bad *** board but these days they are just realy good stock speed board and not much more. Asrock or gigabyte would be my choice for AMD motherboard brands TBH

How about a ga55m gigabyte motherboard and a thermaltake v4 with a 450w power supply, with be more than enough juice for my needs.
