ECM has changed the game a bit :) having 8 man teams back is nice as well.
ECM is an absolute game-changer, and 8-mans being back in is aces.

dtrunk it's good if you have people to play with. Solo play is a miserable experience, and the early trialmech grind is terrible without Founder's or MC (made significantly worse if you pub it).

Conquest mode coming to MechWarrior Online this Tuesday
...
FPS players should find Conquest familiar—like the Battlefield mode by the same name, it’s a multiple-capture-point template. Conquest will repurpose MWO’s existing Assault maps, dotting them with five capture zones. Each team begins the match with an owned capture zone, with three zones in the middle of the map up for grabs. Owning a zone accrues resource points, and the team that reaches 750 first wins. You can also, of course, win the old-fashioned way: knocking out the enemy team.
...
I also asked Inouye if Piranha is happy with the recent implementation of the ECM (electronic counter-measures) system to MWO, which allows some mechs to equip radar and lock-on jamming equipment. “The effect [of ECM] is working as intended and forces players to play a lot smarter,” he said. “Specialized Mechs still have their place on the battlefield but they are going to need the assistance of their teammates to succeed. If you plan on taking specialized Mech into a match, plan wisely and have alternate weapon systems that will help you with mid to long-range combat. People are thinking we need to severely ‘nerf’ the ECM. This is not the case at all. There is already 1 counter-ECM item in the game (TAG), and likely there will be a couple more involving modules and weapon effects.”

The grind is about to get alot better for new players.

They're adding in a "Cadet Bonus" for new accounts, meaning that new players will be able to get into their own mech in 4-5 matches, instead of having to grind. Players with >26 matches will receive roughly 8million c-bills as a bonus (enough for a capture module, etc).

If you've been holding off from trying this out due to not wanting to grind for mechs, as of tomorrow it'll be alot easier to get into.

The Future has Arrived: Print Your Own Mechwarrior Toys

You can't buy this six-inch tall, posable Atlas battlemech from any toy or collectible maker, and it isn't a Comic-Con exclusive. It's exclusively from the 3D printer of a Mechwarrior fan.

PS:

Reseen mechs are now in, and they're doing a preorder bonus that nets 120 days of premium time and a ton of robots to play with (~$250 value) for the $80 package so it's well worth it, especially if you didn't get in the original Founders program.

Community Warfare is expected somewhere in late summer/fall so this is a good buildup to that. Clan mechs should start rolling out in late fall/early winter going by the timeline, but nothing's confirmed yet.

Use the premium time to buy and upgrade a seismic module immediately, as it's basically wallhacks. Expect about 1 out of 3 or 1 out of 4 of your opponents to have one too though.

Too bad the game is awful right now unless you like playing all PPC assaults.

Ignore my posts above - don't spend a cent on this terrible game until they fix it somehow. It's not worth the effort.
