I've never overclocked before, but im wondering with my current mobo/cpu if its even worth it, and what I could expect once overclocked.

heres my core temps with hearthstone and a video stream running in firefox:
My setup
Mobo: ASRock M3A770DE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157176)
CPU: AMD phenom X4 945 3ghz Deneb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103809)

It's an older setup, i know, I just want to see if its worth getting more out of it

Thanks so much!

At a glance I would keep your rig at stock settings.

I agree somewhat. The board has 4 phase power, with maybe a doubler, or that's a 5th for the RAM.

Anyway, it's been running a while and that power treatment might not stand up to increased power demands well.

The CPU might hit 3.5 Ghz. I had a 955 that did 3.7 for 5 years (and it's still in good shape), but that board had 6 phase power treatment (which still isn't great, but much better).

You could end up blowing the VRM's trying for more than 3.4 Ghz.

Yeah, I was thinking the same, the board has been running for along time, and I don't think I want to mess with it. I'll stick with stock as 1st poster said.

Thanks guys! When I plan on getting a new rig though, i'll be posting here! :)
