My brother just borrowed a scanner off another brother of mine set it up went install the software required but 15% through AVG 8 F.E finds a file called Note46.exe as a trojan horse and quite the installer.
I disabled the anti virus and tried to install again but comes up with cannot open file and aborts the install. I got the latest driver from Packard Bell and updated the scanner with that and tried to use HP Photosmart 1.2 photo program but asks the question "This May Not Be A Scanner" Continue yes or no I say yes and nothing happens.

His system is running Win XP Pro SP3.
