I didn't see it in the list so most likely not. The list is sort of a inclusive list. If it's good and has been tested, it's in the list. If it's not in the list, it either isn't a good one or it is not tested.

:) :)

I also remove ones that are no longer in the market for a few years. :comp:

haven't tested or anything but my xfx black edition 650W seems solid :D
i may be wrong though

Do you have a test or review reference? Personal experience isn't sufficient means to verify quality.

Assuming (and that may doom this post!) that the XFX 650 Black is the same platform as the XFX 750 Black, it's about as good as it gets:

This review seems to verify that (Seasonic build):

If OW sees this, he may be able to verify this XFX 650 model for us. I've never seen anything rated poorly from Seasonic.

Diaz?

there it is :)
agreed,
its the same as the 750W one but with less wattage :p

I would add it, if it had an 8.5 rating. Otherwise it seems pretty legit. The only issue with it was the 5 and 3.3V rails which don't perform as a rock solid unit usually does. But I see it how its 12V rail makes up for it..

Rollingthunder, what do you think about this as a recommended PSU?

Diaz,

Let me check with OW to be sure. I can't see a different platform build from Seasonic from the 750 Black. I'll PM him.

You could stuff the Silverstone Strider ST1000 into the 1kw section, oklahoma wolf liked it: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=180

Not the same platform. Still good, but not quite as good.

What do you think about the mentioned strider?

Diaz,

Here's my unprofessional opinion and I don't want to get in the middle of listing power supplies on your list:

To date we have only listed what gets a "badge" from OW and Paul Johnson at [H]ardop and Gabe over at "Hardware Secrets" plus the Canadian site. I'm also keeping in mind that because it doesn't get a "badge" from a professional review that it doesn't mean it's 'bad" either. We all hold Bobnova's opinions very highly too, I know I do.

However, until we have a professional review "badge" given a power supply, we should leave it off the list or wait until it does get reviewed professionally.

Gabe didn't test quite a few items on that XFX 650W Black so I think we should leave it off for now. The 1000w Silverstone Strider didn't get an "Approval" badge from OW from his review either. Not a bad unit at all but I think we should be consistent with listing them here on your list. That's gives you recourse if anything is questioned and it upholds OCForums credibility.

I also don't think we should ask OW how anything should be listed that he hasn't tested, it's not fair to him to ask for an evaluation that he hasn't done such as for the XFX Black 650W. It would probalby make the list but none of us knows for sure. Since your list is generally for "the best of the best," we should leave it that way.

Sound fair enough Bobnova and Diaz?

PS: Don't forget ot add this one to your modular list from OW, it's a screamer.

And it's for sale here:

I never mentioned the 650watt XFX, I was purely speaking about the Silverstone strider all along, things got a bit mixed up there :D

Thanks for your input though, I won't add the strider, while it is very close, it still isn't quite as solid as the ones I put on the thread.

I'll add a +1 for the Silverstone Strider ST1000, have had mine for a good long time (around 5 years) and have yet to have a problem...but the fan is incredibly loud...only fault

Any reason the Seasonic S12 series isn't here?

Johan,

The S12 II 520 is listed. The criteria is that each unit must be accompanied by a link to a professional review. Undoubtedly most all other Seasonics would be included but a professional review was not found for each specific model.
