Hi all,

I just built a HTPC and need to up the storage. Since this was mostly parts laying around, I am currently running a mATX board, E6600 CPU, and three 500GBs HDDs and a DVDR. I want to add on two 3TBs HDD (or 2TBs) using a SATA HDD controller through PCI slot. I figured this would be the best option since my MoBo has run out of SATA slots.

Does anyone have any brand suggestions or card suggestions? I've looked online for reviews but most of the cards reviewed are really high end cards that I don't need. I want a four port card for when I add more HDDs but for now I'd only use two slots. I don't really see myself using RAID except for possibly RAID 5 when I have several HDDs.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

I would suggest a Dell Perc's collection.

I own the Dell Perc H310, features:
*2 mini-sas ports, which each sas port is = 4 sata connections @ 6Gbps
*Supports 3TB plus drives
*Does the Raid 0/1/5/6/10 jbod, etc features

They can be gotten relatively cheaply for under $100.
