one more news site to add to the list
http://techreport.com/reviews/2007q2/athlon-x2-be2350/index.x?pg=1

though look here on page 6

interesting how the E4300 @1.8ghz is not far behind the [email protected]. The E4300 isnt that much more then the BE-2350 i still would like to see the intel E2160 added to that list since it is 1.8ghz with 1mb of L2 to match the BE's and some x2's.

*edit*
page 13 is also another one to look at

The performance numbers are expected, its been proven over and over again that the X2s need a 4-600mhz advantage to outpace a C2D.

The power numbers are more interesting because the techreport was actually smart enough to test these chips with a mainstream chipset.

The 590SLI is a dual NB power consuming monster second only to the 680 series boards in power consumption.

The BE chips are not meant for high performance machines. I think the entire reason for their existance is to be put in 690g boards and offer great performance for a low price with very low power consumption.

As a platform this offers some very stiff competition to the low end C2Ds and the 965G boards. It offers better power consumption and much better graphics performance.

Supposedly the madly-overhyped X3000 video on the 965G should be getting a significant upgrade in a couple of weeks with new beta drivers.

We'll see what intel's drivers can do...right now it is some of the crummiest onboard video I've ever seen. Performance aside (in which it can barely outperform a PCI Radeon 7500) I think the 965G onboard video is also rather blurry, it gives me a headache within seconds of looking at it.

I just got done reading this thread and am utterly confused if this is an AMD or Intel thread. :D

I think AMD might have a good thing going with this idea if they can fine tune the power consumption. However, in the end, I still think the X2 3600+ is the best proc for the price even if it does draw 65W (AMD or Intel).
