Hi all,

Is there any known issues with running 11900k and Apex at 1T? the chips run the default profile 4000 c16 at 1T and 4266 c16 at 1T

however 3600 will not be stable at 1T with the loosest timings.

they run 24/7 at 3600 14-14-14-28 -2T but 1T is a no go, any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this ?

memory profile is manual and mode 2

I don't think you find many Apex users. I was testing it only on MSI and Biostar motherboards and on both it was working at 3600 1T with G.Skill 3600 14-15-15 RAM at XMP or set manually at 14-14-14. Maybe it's the motherboard issue or a matter of BIOS. Either way, I recommend setting 4400+ even CL18 as it's simply faster. It should work at CL16 or CL17 up to 4600-4800.

Strange you would think it would be a walk in the park for the Apex being only 2 dimm motherboard as well, memory tuning has so many variables frustrating.
Woomack is that 4400 @ 18-18-18 ?

thanks

If you have a Samsung B 2x8GB kit then it will run up to 4600-4800 CL16-17-17/CL18-18-18, depends on voltages. I'm just guessing that if you have 4000 CL16 then it's or G.Skill/Team Group 2x8GB or G.Skill 2x16GB Samsung B kit. In both cases, these are about the best IC for OC.
Dual-rank Samsung is a bit tricky as you can find them in kits up to 4400 but they are not really overclocking past 4400. In this case, I recommend 4266 CL14-15-15/14-16-16/15-16-16 and tighter sub-timings.

Are the suggested timings for 4266 possible to run at 1T command or ideally 2T ?

thanks

It should work at 1T but Gear 2 in real works like 2T so you have to set 1T manually so it works as 2T ... and not 4T ;) On MSI I have also something like "real 1T" which is like 1T or forcing 1/2 T what in reality may give 1T ... or won't boot at all. Just check 1T on your motherboard and maybe it will work at a higher memory clock.

Now the question can be if your 3600 settings work at Gear 1 or Gear 2. However, as I said in my previous post, if you have a 2x16GB Samsung kit then I would go for 4266-4400. If you have 2x8GB then 4600-4800.
