Overclockers.com Invades Microcenter Saint Louis - June 25th & 26th

Add Your Comments

Overclockers.com will be invading Microcenter Saint Louis to perform an extreme overclocking demonstration on June 25th & 26th. Everyone in the Saint Louis area is invited to come check things out!

Who We Are?

On a fundamental level, we overclockers are all PC hardware evangelists. We don’t only buy goodies to get a job done, we buy them to tinker. What we need to buy becomes a very relative concept in this hobby, and things are usually more a matter of what we want to buy. We arm ourselves with community knowledge, then blast our way past the rated operating frequencies to get more performance than we pay for. We like to know what makes things tick, then make them tick faster. Beyond our own needs even, people come to us as the authority on building, component selection, and optimization advice for their systems.

Overclockers at Microcenter

At Microcenter on June 25th & 26th, surrounded by a store full of computer parts, we’ll be sharing a bit of that enthusiasm for playing with PC hardware with store customers. We’ll be presenting an extreme cooling exhibition demonstrating the use of Liquid Nitrogen to cool processors and video cards, talking with onlookers, and discussing why and how we do what we do!

  1. I want to Say thanks to Matt,George,Bob an Tom for letting me have some fun. Matt im sorry you an me had so many hardware problems but it was fun.
Here's a quick summary of the event from my perspective! Matt, I forgot my flash drive at work and it had all of your photos on it so I'll have to get that up tomorrow!

Thanks all for a great weekend. Was good talking to all the visitors, and microcenter staff made us feel right at home. Thank you for having us!

Look for a new article in the next couple days, with lots of great pictures!

(I70 east is a parking lot near indianapolis currently, the drive back to Cleveland isn't getting any quicker!)
Thanks for all those that came out! You guys made are day better. We hope to do this again soon. Make sure to come by everyday, our benching team likes to surprise us by benching with no warnings.
Thanks to Dolk and the gang for the up-close demos to overclocking! My wife and I enjoyed seeing the focused attempts to drive the numbers up, but still close enough to the ground level that we could understand/watch!

After using Dolk's guide to go one component at a time for my first build, I got the fabulous moment of saying thanks to the man himself. We talked about the steps of my CPU (1075T) and motherboard (Gigabyte 890).

No plans to rob the fridge of coolant just yet but look forward to driving the clock up a couple of notches soon on my pet project......primarily a gaming platform.
Sorry to hear that bass. I noticed you on hwbot with the 4890, and that is likely what I will be running at microcenter. If you can, bring your Dewar... I am bringing my full 50L, and I am hoping to hold the after party at my hotel.
Killed my 4890 pretesting on phase (did 1170 through '03 at -50C).

I have another one arriving Thursday though...

And I'm borrowing a brand new Tek Fat from XtremeCuztoms at Pure. I'm also picking up a 35LD Dewar on Thursday.

Basically... I'm ready. I have 12GB of Dom GT Hypers for the mem pot too :D
