MSI MEG Z390 ACE Motherboard Review

Up today is another Z390 Motherboard from MSI, the MEG Z390 ACE. MSI has updated their naming scheme recently introducing the MEG, MPG, and MAG series of motherboards. All three are Gaming centric with the “MEG” sitting at the top of the stack as the Extreme Gaming series followed by the Performance and Mainstream boards.

MSI GTX 1660 Gaming X Review

Today we have the second iteration of Nvidia’s pared down Turing Die the GTX 1660, this one is the Gaming X from MSI. After the initial Turing launch and pricing many felt it was a steep price to pay for the new architecture, Nvidia answered with their GTX line of Turing based GPUs. They don’t have the Tensor cores or Ray Tracing but do include many of the new Turing features which were covered in our GTX 1660 Ti review.

ASRock X299 OC Formula Motherboard Review

Today we had a chance to look at another X299 offering, this time from ASRock with its X299 OC Formula. The OC Formula is more of the sports coupe of motherboards with a focus on overclocking and going fast as opposed to gaming or even workstation use. We put the monster i9-9980XE 18c/36t CPU on the board and push it as far as our cooling will take us along with going over the specifications and features.

Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4 3200 Memory Review

The premium DDR4 memory market just became a whole lot more interesting! A new kit of memory from Corsair has landed in our hands, and we are going to take a good look at this memory to see what makes it noteworthy. Corsair has added a new member to their flagship Dominator line. Today, we are looking at the Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB. This new Dominator module, which was first introduced back in 2010, has been redesigned from the ground up to achieve the highest Intel XMP standards for modern DDR4 memory.

Antec Releases Dark Avenger 601 Case

As part of Antec’s focus on the PC gaming market, they are releasing a family of Dark Series cases all with MSRP’s under $100. The most recent announcement is the Dark Avenger 601 mid-tower case, which features X-ARGB strips and tempered glass window.

ASUS Rampage VI Extreme Omega Motherboard Review: Taming the i9-9980XE

Fast forward to today, Intel has released a new lineup of CPUs, also based on the Skylake-X architecture ranging from the i7-9800X (8c/16t ~$600) all the way up to the flagship i9-9980XE (18c/36t ~$2000). The new processors are all 165W parts, but in testing these have pulled a few hundred watts with ambient cooling during stress testing. Due to increased power use, again we are seeing a couple of board partners releasing new versions of boards with even beefier VRMs and cooling to the new CPUs. ASUS was one of those and have taken high-end motherboard to what initially feels like a whole new level with the new ASUS Rampage VI Extreme Omega.
