Poland, do you know where it is? :)
hi!

i've got a problem with checking the speed of my PCI and AGP bus.

At the begining i had C2,2 (22*100) GHz no o/c.
Sandra 2004 showed:
AGP Bus
Speed 4x 66MHz (264MHz data rate)
Multiplier 1/2x

PCI
Multiplier 1/3x

When i did o/c (22*133) to 2,95 GHz my Sandra showed:
PCI Bus(es) on Hub 1
Version : 2.20
Number of Bridges : 2
PCI Bus 0 : PCI (1x PCIClk)
PCI Bus 2 : PCI (1x PCIClk)

and

AGP Bus(es) on Hub 1
Version : 2.00
Speed : 4x
Multiplier : 1/2x

My mobo is Gigabyte 8IE800 and in BIOS i can set to keep 33/66 for PCI and AGP. I did so!

But it doesn't make any sense when looking at the Sandra :/
Does anyone know any other sw to check PCI and AGP frequency or multilpier?

It should be 33 and 66 but it is not I GUESS...

What's more :) my EasyTuning 4 utility from Gigabyte shows when running:
the old ver:
44 and 88 with the option to change to asynchoronous 33 and 66

the new ver:
33 and 66 and the asyn. set with the option to 44/88.

I am concerned about my disk controller and the PCI freq...

My pc does not reset by itself neither it hangs up...
I did some normal work with it /word, excel :)/
and also some 3dMark test. it worked ok...

sorry for my BAD English :p just look at the country i am from :D

HELP ME :)

Probably you AGP/PCI speeds are locked to 33/66Mhz. 44/88Mhz seems to high for me without getting data coruption or other problems.

i guess so, but there is no 100% certainity :)

i didn't notice any problems with graphic or others...

hope to find out some day, because right now noone is able to help me :(

As mfar as I am aware, there are no software programs that can actually read the speeds of the PCI and AGP busses. All they do is calculaate what it should be. You need some instrumentation to physically measure the speed of the bus.

Sandra just guesses what the PCI bus speed should be at that FSB speed... the only thing I know for sure that will accurately tell measure your PCI/AGP speeds is clockgen... assuming they have a verson for your mobo.

There is no ClockGen (CG) for my mobo... :/ I downloaded version which might be accurate (the same chipset Intel 845E)

It shows me 56MHz for PCI and 111 for AGP!!
unbelievable values!!

i guess it doesn't work as it should...
if it does it /for me at least/ impossible to work with such MHz and to get NO errors...
the only one which i noticed lastly is the mem error when shuting down windows, it shows me that memory could not be written...
that's because of my small timings i guess...
i'll try to get them to def value and to check if the error occurs again.

if noone knows any programs or there simply are no
can you tell me whether it is possible to work with such high MHz and to get no errors... i mean hdd, grafphic etc...
if you were my would you stay to present settings (22*133)? :)
and THEORETICAL /maybe practical also/ 33/66 ?
i know it sounds stupid but i have never done o/c :)

I would imagine clockgen is also just guessing at the AGP and PCI speeds. AFAIK, there are no actual sensors on mobos to check these speeds. If you get a PC Geiger or an o-scope, then maybe you can check for sure.

yeah it looks great, but i thought rather about some software :)

i'd rather buy some other cpu than buy some sensors to my pc :)
my amount of $$ i not as big as i'd like it to be :)

btw any thoughts about no err working and that HIGH Mhz? :)
