Anybody tried the free HL2: DM on steam?

I haven't got an ATI machine up an running where I am at the moment, so I've asked here.

Does anybody have the free HL2: DM install running, and if so does it support 3rd party source mods provided they don't require CS:S or HL2 SP files?

I think some mods support it with some hacking around - don't remember which, but it's a good bet to check their site (and especially forums).

I haven't downloaded it, but I'm wondering if you get the SDK too. Usually when you buy any sourrrce game you get the SDK. If you get the SDK than nearly every mod will work by running it via the SDK. If you just get HL2: DM then like what Omsion said, it might or might not work.

Didn't try it yet because I am too busy playing around with the linux right now...
