No, I don't think it's the board. I could get the 650 to POST at 1000 no problem, but Windoze would freeze on boot. Just a little more voltage would have gotten me there, I'm sure.
Maybe the cas2 ram will help me. My temps stay from 89-93. I have played with the voltage all the way up. The latest mobo drivers let you set the voltage to 1.85 but it shows it at 1.91.
Say what? You can get 1.94v doing the L7 bridges? I've done that and the max I see is still 1.85v. I even have the beta BIOS (overclocker/power user one). Am I missing something?
MSI PRO 2a --> 700 duron to 936 (9 x 104 FSB). That's max. None of my friends with the same board have managed anything higher, even with the beta bios and 1.85v. Anyways, from my own testing using 3dmark2000 the system is actually faster at 936Mhz than at 1000Mhz (10x100FSB). I think it is a mobo issue because it won't even post at 9.5 or 10 multi, even though I have a kickass heatsink/fan (global win FOP38) on it with Artic Silver thermal goop. A buddy has the abit RAID, he can hit 1000 but can't get the FSB above 101 at ANY speed (it crash out of UT, which I find to be extremely sensitive to any system flakiness)
This is a link to some good info on this MoBo.
I have used the tweaked bios that is here and done all the other steps.
I am still testing to see how high it will let me go I started with o/cing the ram first.
