AS guide?

Is there a definative guide on the proper application of the various AS compounds? I've read many ppls personal methods, but has one proved to be the best.

I ask because i swithced to AS5 recently and my temps went up (consistantly), even well after the "burn-in" time for the compound had completed.

Temps could go up from a bad mounting of your heatsink or waterblock
