I have a x800pro and would like to try and o/c for fun what is the best program that works? thanx in advance.

by the way does anybody know how to get the fan of the x800 so I can put a vga silencer on it.

Best Tool IMHO to use:

AtiTool <-- get the latest version that comes bundled with the omega drivers for ATI cards... www.omegadrivers.net

To remove stock heatsink/fan:
Yes, look on the back of the card.

There are 3 screws.

2 screws are connected to a bracket (on the board of the board) that holds the heatsink/fan to the board - undo both (unscrew one halfway then the other half way to avoid putting too much stress on them :)) and one larger screw that helps hold the sink to the board. Remove all 3 screws (don't loose the washer on the larger one) and take the heatsink off. It make be slightly "stuck" to the board , because of the thermal "goop" applied to the core.. so be careful and do it slowly .... remove the "goop" with rubbing alcohol - apply as5 and plop on that fancy new cooler. :)
