So... I got the voltmod done on the new Asus 270. She's now running at 1.1V. What can it do now? Well...

Yup, that's my much cheaper Asus 270 (GPU 1) keeping up with my Asus 270X TOP edition. Seriously, I'm shocked it's doing this. My mouth may never close again - I literally just sat there watching all agog for like 10 minutes waiting for hardware errors. Temps were in the low 70s just this morning at lower speeds. It's totally insane!

Note that I am exclusively using the Kalroth CGMiner variant to get these results. Using xintensity is a significant improvement on the old way of doing it, at least on these cards. Both are running the same settings:

-X 4,4 --lookup-gap 2,2 -w 256,256 -g 2,2 --thread-concurrency 8193,8193 --gpu-engine 1100,1100 --gpu-memclock 1475,1475 --gpu-fan 80,80 --temp-target 80,80 --temp-cutoff 90,90

1.1 volts?!
Geeez, it takes 1.19 volts (probably less actually) to get 487 Kh out of my 270x.

EDIT: Perhaps you can run GPU-Z and read the ASIC Quality? (Might have to put the card in a Windows box to use GPU-Z is Wine can't do it.) read about that here

EDIT2: You Sir are a god send. With your settings, I now get a whopping 500Kh on the nose!
PM me your BTC address, I'll send you a tip after the pools and exchanges pay me.

No worries :)

The 270 is still hanging with the 270X. Temp went up to 64 while the 270X went to 70. Looks like I'm sticking to these settings. Drawing about 10-15 watts less power at the wall vs. the old voltage at 1000 engine, too.

Cant wait to try this, but have to wait till the Devil is back from RMA (think the memory was borked, @ default clocks it would white screen in skyrim, and I was getting BSOD in BF4 and pretty much any other 3d intensive game. Underclocking made the problems go away. And I put the 5850 in, with no issues, and the 550Ti in with no issues.) Sucks I cant just flash an ASUS ROG Bios, being a non reference board, afaik that means it has to be a BIOS specific for it (BIOS mod here I come)

I always thought the 270 and 270x were more or less the same card, just the X comes with higher clocks and more power connections

They are. Same shader count, same architecture except the 270x's TDP is 30W more and its reference clocks are higher (1000 versus 900).

Woke up this morning to find that the 270 was still five degrees cooler than the 270X at 67. Everything was completely stable all night.

I need to figure out how this xintensity works. I feel my 6850 could benefit from it after I do some ultratuning on it.

My 270x has now hit a whopping 512 Kh!!! Awesome!!! :D

what settings did you use?

i see the OW, is using the -g2 method, which i haven't yet explored on my card. seems more people go with a -g1. but hey, if i can get a boost with -g2 im all for it.

I lost 50kh/s with the kalroth miner on my 5850 :(

Need to search around and find 13.1 display drivers for it.

Gets me 500 Kh now, I reduced the overclock because I'd rather not feed it 1.2+volts anymore ;)

1200 core, 1500 mem kinda stable at 1.2 volts. It might need 1.21 volts to be stable all night, I'm working on that. (Randomly crashes)

Yeah, 13.12 is what I use + AMD APP SDK 2.9.

this is soooo nice  thanks wolf ! now i will def order a pair ;)

thanks to this.

my XFX 270x now runs at 470kh/s !

went from:
440kh/s
-I 19
-g 1
-TC 16384
-1050/1490

to :
470kh/s
-xI 4
-g 2
-TC 8193
-1080/1490

will run 465 @ 1050core, and 480 @ 1100 core (but it's not very stable at 1100).

i tried these same settings on my 7870, but it's a no-go. didnt like the -g 2, xI 4 settings

I use the 13.12 drivers alone as they already contain the SDK.

For me? Because I have no problem taking free video cards ;)

For my next trick, I will make this entire bag of Doritos disappear.

Mmmmm Doritos :p

And congrats to EarthDog, now a mod :D
