Heat pipe waterblock ?

Iv had a idea for some time
buy a multi heat pipe hsk and change one of the heat pipes to water cooling
(rad pump res)
oneone tried it ?

Won't work as well as a normal waterblock. Heatpipes require a large (comparitively) delta T in order to function correctly. This temp difference is larger than the delta T a waterblock has.
 
Just thinking of using it like a safty back up
if the pump stops (or my wife forgets to turn it on LOL)
the the CPU wouldnt fry

You can try use a Relay to connect the pump and PC, once PC is on, the pump is on.

Or connect a flow-meter (the one that rotate when water flows through it) to know whether the pump is working ;)
