Pardon the dumbness, but I've wondered this for awhile but never actually asked.... How is it the 40 pin, 80 conductor cables work exactly? 40 pins with 80 conductors?
The extra 40 wires are there to prevent cross-talk between the wires, essential for high speeds. Only half of the wires actually carry data, the other half just sit there.
