Iomega Prestige Desktop HDD new install need help

I have a Prestige 2 Desktop HDD from Iomega, the original died and now i have a replacement drive to put in just need to figure out out the firmware etc needed. I've visited iomega/lenovo's site and dont see a straight forward way of doing it.
Anyone run into this issue before or know the steps to fix it?

So let me get this straight. You are keeping the enclosure from the dead Iomega unit and just replacing the hdd itself that was inside it? Are you sure the problem was the hdd itself and not the enclosure electronics that convert from SATA to USb?

There are easier ways to do what you are trying to do if my take is correct on what you are attempting.

Why not just buy a whole new external unit? If the disk itself is dead you are not able to retrieve the data anyway.

Firmware? The drive should just be formatted and drop it back in the enclosure.
