do you think that cpu can handle more?
tnx

You might want to rethink that 1.74v on the NW in fear of SNDS. Anything above the 1.7 range is touchy territory

I saw that...
so i dropped the Vcore to 1.68
and now the CPU is at 3.55 :(

Hehe

Personally I would rather have my chip around three years then three months (if that). :)

Nice OC dude

My 2.4C is at 3.42ghz with 1.600vcore -- pretty damn stable and I think I can go further without changin the vcore.

Thank you P4C800-ED and Adata PC4200 :D

just got mine 2 days ago, and it's been running @ 260fsb @ default vcore, 1.488v under load. i'm not sure if i should run it at 5:4 @ 2-2-2-5 or 1:1 @ 3-4-4-8 timinig? here are some pics on my rig.

WOW nice

You mean , You set default Vcore (Abit IC7 MAX3 ?) in bios 1.525 right ? CPU-Z shows 1.488 under Load right ? Or i'm wrong ?
What Vcore shows CPU-Z in Idle whet set to default?

I got Costa Rica 2003 week 51 Abit IC7-G Default Vcore in bios 1.525V CPU-Z shows 1.488 sometimes under load, (moslty 1.49-1.50V Windbond Hardware Doctor), 1.504 idle(CPU-Z).

When i set FSB 240 all tests are fine exept Prime95 : ( After about 30-40 min (random time) i got error (bad rounding)

FSB 230 at default Vcore is Prime95 stable (3hour's).

What could be the reason? Abit under volting?Temps ?Chip?I got Intel Box heatsink and fan.Temps are Idle=45C Load=61-64C

Btw Sorry for my English ; )

1.6 vcore is the highest i need to take mine to get 3.7 unfortunately its not prime stable with the asus volt droop problem....am sure it would go hogher if i done that mod just a bit nervous with a soldering iron:-/

mine would post at those speeds at stock so i am inclined to think either your mobo or psu might be holding you back some

all the same nice overclock:D

nice at 1.74 vcore

What do you have your ram at? 266/333/400. I have the same board but 2.8C and our mem is comparable.(both 4200). Also, what timings? Thanks in advance.

WOW...sweet bunch of o/c's there. I'll add mine to the list...just installed 2 days ago.

2.8C SL6WU (30-caps)
270fsb @ 1.62v
Ram is 256x2 Geil Ultra-Plat running 1:1 on SPD timings (anything else gives beep code)

still climing the clock too...:p

hrmph, opinions seem to differ on the subject i see...

so, what do you guys think, what is the highest safe vcore on air?

btw, very nice o/c, Venom21, :)

Got a new 2.8C M0 as well last week.

On an IC7 at default volts which = undervolting.

Max I'm willing to go now with my current lack lustre aircooling is this:

3740.jpg

highest safest Vcore to me is anything 10% above what the stock Vcore is.
