Libranet Linux runs VERY well on a K6-2 500 ($16 Newegg CPU) on a Shuttle HOT567 socket 7 mobo. VERY nice setup, try the included Opera browser, snappy. As I recall...Setting the dip switch to 2 actually changed the multiplier to 6, set the bus speed at 75 so it runs "underclocked" at 450mhz, or try 83mhz if available. The cheapo heatsink doesn't even get warm. It must be the ancient Arctic Silver II I used!! Hehe.
