Hello,

My buddy is trying to put together an ATA100 RAID 0 setup.
He has two Maxtor 60GB HD and a PCI Adaptec 1200A ATA RAID card. He setup the array in the RAID BIOS config utility. Everthing up to that point is good. He created an array that is 115GBs and set the primary drive as active. The problem is he can't get FDISK or the Maxtor setup program to see the whole array. Both programs only see an array that is half the actual size. He even tried to let Windows XP setup find the array and partition it. WinXP setup saw a HD that is 114 GB which is correct but it kept saying that the drive was damaged. Does anyone have an idea as to the problem.

Thanks

did you load the raid drivers in the XP setup screen by pressing F6 when asked? Also to verify that neither hd is damaged take them out of the array and hook up to a regular IDE channel and run the maxtor dignostic utiltiy from their site on each drive. Then place them back in the array. Don't worry about fdisk XP will take care of that in setup.
