I just installed the SMART 6 software from the Gigabyte Z68A-D3-B3 CD.
but I`m still learning on how to overclock my cpu. The SMART 6 has a Quickboost mode that can help newbie like me overclocking my CPU in just one click but the thing is I`m using the core i5-2500 3.3GHz, not the 2500k and from what I`ve read, core i5-2500 is not suit to be overclocked. Since I`m not really expert on this (newbie actually), is it safe to move on? or do I need to have a better cpu fan? I need some advice from others. Kindly help me thanks :).
My spec will be as follows..
Intel Core i5- 2500 3.3GHz (stock cpu fan)
GA-Z68A-D3-B3 Rev1.0 Mobo
2x 4Gb 1333MHz Kingston/KingMax
Corsair GS600 PSU
Asus GTX 560 Ti 940/1880/4200MHz @ 1.037V
5x Red LED Corsair Casing Fan 120mm 2000rpm

The 2500 non-k version has access to "limited overclocking", meaning you can set clock rates up to four speed bins above the highest Turbo Boost frequency setting (37 + 4 = 41 --> 4.1GHz @ BCLK 100.0) or 1 active core + Number of CPU Bins (+4) = Turbo Freq. of 3.7GHz... Overclocked Freq. adds an additional +4 CPU Bins = 4.1GHz...
