I've recently bought one of these on eBay

Do you need to put TIM on the RAM? I do have some thermal adhesive tape but it's just taken me 1/2 hour to get the Enzotech RAM sinks off and I don't want to semi-permanently fix it with tape anyway.

I have a non-reference card so I won't be fitting the VRM bit of it.

for ram chips a ceramic tim... carries no capacitance to destroy the ram.

you can use other tim... I did, but theres more risk.

MX2 or 3 seems the stuff people suggest late...

maybe intended for thermal pads?
if theres half a mm gap or more you need thermal pads.

That's great, I generally use MX-2 anyway. Thanks

whatever the case, please be careful mounting the block... dont bow the card by screwing the block too tight.

tiny adjustments then look and check :)

Unfortunately I've learnt that with experience.

killed a £280 GTX280 myself.

and six sticks of ram.

shtuff happens #Laughs#

good mate of mine just wrecked his I7 setup too.

ambition vs stupidity... get to it :)
