I got a Thermal right SLK-800 heatsink and slapped a Vantec Tornado 80x80x38 fan on there. Now, i would like something that would allow me to turn down the voltage so i dont have to have the sucker running at full speed the whole time. The problem is, that it draws alot of amps so just any old potentiometer wont work. Here are the specs:

Fan Speed 5700 RPM
Noise 55.2dBA
Rated Power 9.1W
Rated Voltage 12V
Rated Current .76 Amp
Fan Speed 5700 RPM

any suggestions? the cheaper the better

i got the one from allelectronics

15ohms, 15watts

I had it hooked up and let it run and watched the temp response in the bios. It was running for maybe 5 minutes and i noticed the rheostat was feeling a little warm, is this something to worry about?
