What is the point in Prescott for 478 in all the benches the Prescott falls behind the Northwood in all but a few tests and since there probebly will not be any more CPU except maybe
EE ones, what was the point in making it for this socket? all it does is overheat and give you 1mb of cache?

Because of the manufacturing processes used on the prescott it will be able to clock MUCH higher than the northwood core, thus bringing its performance gains.

Cut it some slack. Its new technology. Allow it to mature a little. The new stepping is do out in a few months. If it still stinks then, Ill help you bash it.
