Homemade Tivo?

AMD pricing has taken a plunge and the pricing differential between its products and Intel’s is now about the
same as it was in the late Thunderbird days.

You might say “well, Intel hasn’t cut its prices yet,” but Intel’s prices on Pricewatch appear to have settled in right around “offical pricing.” (“Official pricing” from
the Inquirer).

Meanwhile, AMD’s current pricing is already well below what will be “official pricing.” (Numbers, again, from the Inquirer).

Now it is possible we’ll see Intel prices go clunk next week, though Intel’s prices usually (but not always) hover around official pricing.

However, when AMD starts severely undercutting its official pricing, that has been a good indicator in the past that
it is having problems selling. There isn’t a new processor expected from AMD, so it’s not a matter of everything just
going down a notch, either.
