Old file to new HDD

Okay, I got a new hard drive, motherboard, and processor, and im attempting to copy some of the stuff off my old desktop to my new hard drive. When i got into documents and settings, i can get to any folder exept desktop, which says access denyied. I had a password to log into my old computer, and this may be holding me up. How do it get by it?

i dont see how a password would affect this. unless you encrypted the desktop folder. or something else weird like that.

thats maybe because desktop is in use.

I think your best bet is to put he HD into the old computer, log in and remove the password.

or, are you logged on as administrator? you might not have permission to access the folder.
