asrock z68 extreme3 gen3 general advice

Hi, everyone.

Recently I got Asrock z68 extreme3 gen3. Could you please tell me all the pros and cons of this motherboard? Did you try to update BIOS in order to use ivy-bridge processors? (I'm capable to buy core i7 2600k or i5 3570k). If yes, did you face any problems with that?

I used that board at some point and had no problems with it. You get pcie 3.0 (not that it really matters from a performance point of view). It should run Ivy bridge CPUs with a bios update. The only problem is, unless it already has an update, you'll need a sandy installed to do it.

This is the only downside that I'm aware of, but this is true of any Z68 board.
