hmm ~ my cpu @ 1.6v 4600mhz would take 325W ****
i wonder if my OC is being held back by psu

well according to that i need 551w.... so looks like getting a 700w psu was a good idea :D

Lol, having a Dothan has its benefits...285W total even at 3.1GHz...:p...unfortunately for me, my cooling draws about double that.

A64 rig at 2.7 GHz weighs in at 381W, AXP rig at 363W.

Very nice work, mnemonik.

Thanks!

Softwarew calcs are fun to play with, but they're not very accurate. Some are wildly innacurate. With a forum such as this one, and so mnay people testing actual units with real world OC's, I tend to use that information alot more than calcs. Calcs ARE good for getting a genral idea, but if you want real world accuracy, you need real world results.

I've used all kinds of calculators. I've even tried some designed for model aircraft, but I always end up using the experience of others. You just can't beat the people on these forums. I've proven software wrong many times, but rarely have I ever been able to prove a real person wrong. Sometimes people make mistakes, but they tend to correct themselves...software will not.

true, that's why I'm a member of many forums and always listen what others say ;)
I think now it is more accurate than other calcs available online. But there is plenty to do as well...

Site is back online again btw.

are you sure this is yours? I've seen similar on a different website before, it may have been Tom's Hardware but I can't remember.

what? calculator? I think so :)
I do post on other forums too: updates, components discussion, power consumption, etc. ;)
